Roots are vital.
Without roots there will be no fruit.
Our prayer is for fruit, lasting fruit.
Laying Roots in the City of Boston
By God’s grace, we are seeking to establish a strong root system. God has given us a clear vision. God has gathered a faithful group of people here in Boston who are committed to this work. God is sending out laborers into his harvest.
We are asking God to call others, from outside our immediate community, to partner with us in his work. Church plants require money. They require investment. Beginning in 2010, the Roots Campaign is our effort to raise $500,000 for this mission. Roots come in all sizes but each is vital to the long-term reality of bearing fruit. If 2 people give $50,000, 5 people give $20,000, 10 people give $10,000, 20 people give $5,000, and 100 people give $1,000, then we will reach our goal. We do trust that those who share with us in the burdens of this mission will also share with us in the joy that comes as fruit is born.
This is costly work, but we believe that God is leading. We believe in what he is doing. This has been his idea from the beginning. And we trust that God will provide the resources - that he will lay the necessary roots for this mission to bear fruit in the city of Boston and beyond.
