Justice and Mercy
As a missional family in the city of Boston, we are committed to seeking the welfare of our city (Jeremiah 29:7) and supporting those who are serving around the world.
Our Seeking the Welfare of the City team facilitates ways that our entire community serves our city in tangible ways.
We have a partnership with a public K-8 school in Jamaica Plain. Members of CotC teach weekly extra-curricular activities in the after-school program, provide requested supplies to teachers, and complete special projects around the school.
We have a partnership with the International Institute of Boston (IIB), an organization that serves refugees and immigrants to help them live and thrive in their new home in Boston. We collaborated with the IIB to create a program called the Practice Lab, where members of CotC meet weekly to help clients apply for and find jobs. We also provide basic supplies to set up apartments.
Some of our Neighborhood Groups have formed other partnerships where they can serve monthly together. We financially support and pray for other partners in the city, and we work to support the many in our congregation who are vocationally working for justice and mercy.
Our Global Missions team facilitates our partnerships with those serving around the world. We financially support, hear from, and pray for people who are serving through prison ministry, theological teaching, refugee support, medical training, and other fields.
