Civil Rights in Boston: An Historical Account With an Eye on Today

#discusssesh

CotC member Charlie Glenn was deeply involved in the fight for racial justice in the 60s and 70s. He joined the Massachusetts Department of Education in Boston in 1970 with responsibility for equity and urban education. He was “in the room where it happened” when Boston started busing kids to different neighborhoods in order to desegregate Boston public schools, one of the most divisive issues in Boston’s modern history. Come hear Charlie recount the history of fighting for equality in Boston. He’ll also offer reflections on how we can continue to work for justice today.
