Today (the day after the election day) was a depressing day. In Boston, I was surrounded by an array of emotions: grief, anger, disbelief, apathy, hopelessness. And this spirit saddened me.
The Ephesians reading for my reflection was a much needed escape for me tonight, and a reminder that our peace comes from Christ.
“For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace.”
I pray that in the upcoming weeks that these neighbors, friends, and co-workers will find peace. I also pray that our church may be a place of refuge for those needing healing and hope.
I am from Mobile, AL and moved to Boston five years ago after graduating from Sewanee (YSR)! When I’m not busy with nursing school, I enjoy being outdoors and hanging out with friends and family.
