Tuesday: Psalm 21-22; Genesis 42.1-38; 1 Corinthians 8.1-13

From: David Watts

I have moments where I feel like I face anything. Absolutely anything. No, I’m not having a hypomanic event or delusions of grandeur. It feels like a young Spiderman when he first awakens to his powers. He’s climbing walls, shootin' webs, entering MMA competitions (Tobey Maguire version). Unstoppable. In psalm 21, David is feeling unstoppable. Long life, endless blessings, enemies utterly subdued, this is a gaudy praise report for any ancient king. Important here is the source of King David and this David’s power, verse 1, “O Lord, in your strength the king rejoices.” The Lord is backing David, and he’s relishing, rejoicing, laughing in His strength, and probably shaking his head at times he ever doubted. For these unstoppable moments are simply moments of faith. Verse 7, “For the king trusts in the Lord...” How much more as people enthroned by the King himself can we face our days with an unwavering, quiet confidence. Awaken to faith in the Lord, and you’ll find strength in the Lord.

I’m a deacon in The Special Jurisdiction of Armed Forces, and loving life in the Lord!
