from Carson Rockett

Run! That’s what I hear when I read the book of Hebrews.

It’s easy to feel weary in the Christian life. We live in a broken world that comes with trial, discouragement, and unmet expectations. I find life in the verses throughout the bible that implore us to persevere, fight, be strengthened, don’t grow weary, don’t drift, don’t lose heart, press on… Run!

Take heart, Christ has already run this race for us. He has finished it. He didn’t just run this race as our example, but rather as our substitute. It is through Christ that we ‘will run in the way of your commandments when you enlarge my heart’ (Psalm 119:32)

From strength to strength go on;
Wrestle, and fight, and pray;
Tread all the powers of darkness down,
And win the well-fought day:
