Holy Week

Prepare for Holy Week, a pivotal time that holds deep meaning and tradition for our church family, by marking your calendars for these significant services:

  • Palm Sunday, March 24, 10:30 am:  We begin Holy Week with our Palm Sunday Processional, remembering Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem as the coming king. This joyful celebration is then quickly transformed into the contemplation of the passion of our Lord that marks Holy Week. Childcare will be provided.

  • Maundy Thursday, March 28, 7:00 pm: Our Maundy Thursday service is when we contemplate our Lord during the Last Super. This is also when the table is stripped after we share communion for the last time before Easter. Childcare will not be provided.

  • Good Friday, March 29, 7:00 pm: Entering in silence, we come together to dwell upon the death of Jesus on the cross. We read the Passion narrative from John’s Gospel, and we finish in silence and take time to linger in meditation and prayer at the Stations of the Cross. Childcare will not be provided.

  • Holy Saturday’s Great Vigil of Easter, March 30, 8:00 pm: This is our biggest service of the year that transitions us from the sorrow of Good Friday to the joy of Easter. This year to accommodate our congregation and all our guests we will host the Vigil at Converse Hall, 88 Tremont Street, Boston, MA 02108. The service will begin on Boston Common and process to Converse Hall. Go here for more details.

  • Easter Sunday, 9:00am and 11:30am: To serve our expanding congregation and the high attendance on Easter, we’re adding an extra service with a “feasting hour” in between for all starting at 10:30am. This ensures space for everyone to celebrate our Lord’s resurrection. Normal children’s ministry will happen at the 9:00am but not the 11:30am service. No nursery at either service. Normal service schedules resume the following Sunday.
